Why choose handcrafted pieces

Why choose handcrafted pieces

At l'Été we have offer a collection of handcrafted jewellery pieces. From earrings, to bracelets, necklaces and rings. We'll explore what handmade means, where our pieces are produced and how it helps us in sustainable practices.

Handmade jewellery

Our latest collection from India is handmade by our goldsmith Jahan. Handmade jewellery is a special type of jewellery that's crafted by hand rather than by a machine or mass production process. These pieces are unique and one-of-a-kind, often featuring intricate details and personal touches.

Precious metals

Our handmade pieces are made of precious metal like silver and 9 to 14ct gold, for more info on the materials check out the material guide. Precious metals allow for personalised jewelry designs and are the most sustainable choice. The colour of silver and gold pieces won't wear off. Jewelry from precious metals is made to pass along for generations and can always be repurposed for a new jewellery design.

Local handmade jewelry

We also work with local goldsmiths on locally (Amsterdam) produced pieces. Meaning we can solely work with recycled silver and gold and reduce any shipping. In collaboration with goldsmith Femke (Roestvry Amsterdam) we celebrate local craftmanship. Local production is more costly, so these items are higher prices, but you do get an honest product in return and you get to support local artistry.
